Scott Hadly worked for 8 years as an investigative and projects reporter for the Santa Barbara News-Press before coming to the Ventura County Star at the beginning of 2007. But Hadly is not new to the area, having worked in Ventura County from 1993 to 1998 covering first politics in the east county and then law enforcement for the Los Angeles Times. A graduate of UC Berkeley's Graduate School of Journalism, Hadly has won awards for his work every year he's been a reporter. Among his awards was an ethics award last year from the Society of Professional Journalists, seven California Newspaper Publishers Association awards, an Associated Press News Writing Award, a Southern California Journalism Award for investigative reporting, a McClatchy News Service in-depth reporting award and a Los Angeles Press Club award for investigative reporting. He's married and has two young children.
