Charles Levin has worked at The Star since late 1999 and covers the cities of Oxnard and Port Hueneme. A journalist for 14 years, he also writes about jazz for The Star's Time Out and Life sections and national publications. At The Star, Charles has previously covered the city of Ventura, Ventura County government, and growth and transportation issues. Charles is a former professional musician with a Bachelor's of Fine Arts degree from California Institute of the Arts. He continues to play drums in his free time.
