@TO-Cal Stand Out hed:Live aid Estéban at The Canyon in Agoura Hills Estéban knows the importance of music education. The classical and flamenco guitar virtuoso, whose recent "Best of Estéban" collection topped Billboard's New Age charts, lobbied hard when he was starting out to study with legendary Spanish guitarist Andres Segovia. When Segovia was on tour, Estéban would leave countless messages for the master, telling him that "My life is meaningless unless I can study with you." Estéban got his wish and studied with Segovia in Spain for five years. The training paid off and, even after a debilitating car accident, Estéban went on to carve out a successful career. Estéban's goal now is to help other aspiring musicians receive the education they need. As he did last year, Estéban is staging a benefit concert for Lindero Canyon Middle School's music program. It will be held at 7:30 p.m. Sunday at The Canyon, 28912 Roadside Drive, Agoura Hills. Tickets are $20 for adults and $15 for students. Call 818-879-5016 or visit http://www.canyonclub.net.
