Jason Redmond / Star staff Simi Valley 6/5/08: Jenine Oropeza, 35, of Simi Valley had been fighting tumors since she was a child. In 1994 she was diagnosed with cancer and had to have her arm and part of her torso amputated. Despite all she has been through she was awarded her doctorate in psychology on June 1. She currently works with homeless teens in Los Angeles uses her battles with cancer to give her strength.
