@TO-Cal Stand Out hed:Moor to come Othello' in Thousand Oaks "But I will wear my heart upon my sleeve," says Iago in Shakespeare's "Othello." Yeah, right: He follows that up with "I am not what I am." Meet the manipulative Iago, along with Desdemona, Cassio and other employees, hangers-on and relatives of Othello, aka the Moor from Venice, when the California Shakespeare Company opens its 2008-09 season Friday with Shakespeare's suspenseful tragedy. Fans of classic theater appreciate the California Shakespeare Company, which describes itself as "relying for the most part on the power of the Bard's wonderful words. No gimmicks, no special effects." Besides the "wear my heart upon my sleeve" line, other familiar phrases coined by Shakespeare in "Othello" include "Tis neither here nor there" and "a foregone conclusion." Performances will be held neither here nor there, but at the Hillcrest Center for the Arts in Thousand Oaks, 403 W. Hillcrest Drive. Showtimes are 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays and 3 p.m. Sundays, through Sept. 14. Tickets are $22 for general admission and $20 for seniors.
