Pasadena scores 29 points in fourth to stun Ventura

It's no longer a rough patch for the Ventura College football team. It's a full-blown, season-threatening downturn. Seeking an end to its two-game losing streak, the Pirates instead ran into a disastrous fourth quarter Saturday night in Northern Conference play. Offense provides many big plays and defense also solid as CLU rout Pomona-Pitzer

The defense is rolling and the offense is growing. If that sounds like a winning combination, well, for the Cal Lutheran football team, it certainly is. With its biggest offensive day of the year backed by a third straight solid defensive game, CLU ran its winning streak to three games by defeating Pomona-Pitzer 44-13 in the school's homecoming game at Mt. It hasn't taken long for the College of the Canyons football team to assert its dominance in the Southern California Football Association's Northern Conference. The Cougars, ranked No. 2 in JC Gridwire's national poll, built a 24-point first-quarter lead before finishing off a 48-3 win over No. 21 Moorpark on Saturday night at Cougar Stadium. Full story »
