Forum to address Medicare changes

A forum on changes in Medicare will be held Monday at Wilson Senior Center.

The free event will cover changes that could affect Medicare recipients as they decide whether to change their coverage during the open enrollment period that runs from Nov. 15 through Dec. 31. There will be discussion of new rules and laws that affect how insurance companies market Medicare plans.

Speakers include U.S. Rep. Lois Capps, D-Santa Barbara; Ventura County Supervisor John Flynn; David Lipschutz of California Health Advocates; and Katharine Raley of the Ventura County Health Insurance Counseling and Advocacy Program.

The forum will run from 10 a.m. to noon at the center, 350 North C St. in Oxnard. Reservations are needed. Call 477-7310.
