Car show to have 52 categories
Car aficionados and collectors will display vintage and contemporary cars in 52 categories at the 23rd annual Westlake Village Auto Show at 10 a.m. Oct. 5 in Westlake Village.
The Thousand Oaks-Westlake Village Regional Chamber of Commerce coordinates the show, which is open to the public free of charge.
Organizers of this year's event expect more than 5,000 people to attend, according to event spokesman Bob Fisher.
He said the show is held "to provide a forum for competition" for car fans and collectors and community members who can enjoy the vehicles and learn what is new in the automotive industry.
Placement of cars starts at 7 a.m., and at 2:30 p.m. there will be the awards presentation, with 52 first-place and 52 second-place awards by classification.
Also, there will be Best of Show Ladies Choice, Club Participation and Custom Motorcycles awards.
Part of the tradition will be businesses presenting their goods and services and musical entertainment throughout the day by The Coveralls and The Flashback.
Also planned are performances by a stunt man from the television show "Dukes of Hazzard" and the showing of the famed orange General Lee car, said Fisher. Refreshments will be sold.
The show will be in the parking lot of the Countrywide Financial Corp., 31303 Agoura Road, Westlake Village.
