Annual mayor's dinner is Oct. 3
Comedian Kathy Buckley and the Tony Maddox Band will be the featured entertainment Oct. 3 for the fourth annual mayor's dinner and charity auction at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library.
Mayor Paul Miller and his wife, Connie, will serve as hosts for the event and will present Humanitarian Awards to three community activists. The Simi Valley Community Foundation sponsors the event.
"It is a great community event, and proceeds from this year's affair will help to support the Simi Valley Alliance for Human Services," said Dick Erbe, chairman of the foundation.
This year's honorees are Barbara Frova, trustee for the Greater Los Angeles Chapter of the ALS Association; Joanne Abruzzese, director of east county services for The ARC of Ventura County; and Susan Myers, executive director of the Simi Valley Hospital Foundation.
"We are recognizing these three amazing women for their tireless efforts on behalf of the organizations they represent and their contributions to our great community," Miller said.
The evening will start with a social hour at 6 p.m. and two silent auctions; dinner will begin at 7 p.m., to be followed by a live auction featuring a trip to Italy and other items, tributes to the honorees and live entertainment.
Tickets are $125 per person. The RSVP deadline is Sept. 26.
Sponsorship opportunities are available at the following levels: Mayor's Circle, $5,000; Humanitarian, $2,500, and Friends of the Alliance, $1,500. In addition, a Tribute Book is being published with full-page ads at $300, half-page ads at $175; and quarter-page ads at $100.
