Man stabbed during home invasion robbery
A man was stabbed early this morning during a home invasion robbery in Oxnard, police said.
The 30-year-old man and a 54-year-old woman told police they were asleep in their home in the 400 block of South D Street about 2:25 a.m. when they heard someone jump the fence into their back yard, then awoke to find a man and a woman entering their bedroom, Oxnard police said in a prepared statement.
The robbers demanded money and property.
During the robbery, the male resident was stabbed multiple times, police said. The female resident was not injured.
The robbers escaped with an undisclosed amount of cash and property.
The male resident was transported to St. John's Regional Medical Center in Oxnard, where he was treated for minor stab wounds, police said. He was subsequently released.
The female robber was described as 5-feet 6-inches tall with a medium build. The 22-year-old suspect was wearing a beige shirt and jeans, police said.
The male suspect, 46, was described as about 5-feet 7-inches tall with a medium build, police said. He was wearing dark clothing.
The suspects were not identified in the statement released this morning.
Police encourage anyone with information about the robbery to contact Det. Chris Williams at 486-6228, or call the Violent Crimes Hotline at 982-7070.

How can you identify the ages but not the names?

Maybe I'm confused. How do they know the ages of the suspects if they got away? Apparently the residents knew their attackers??? Am I missing something in this article?

Where is high_society with the blog link? We need more information!
And how do they know the exact ages of the bad guy and gal? Shouldn't these be the approximate ages?
Or maybe they know them?
So many questions...so few answers.

Great desription. What freakin' race! How can they identify ages and height but have no idea about what color they may be. Stupid. How about a first name then. I am sure the suspects appreciate the lack of info as well. A very lame report to post.

KVTA didn't have anything else to offer, except that the female robber was Hispanic. This story is weird. I believe the residents must have known the robbers...
HOME INVASION ROBBERY/STABBING IN OXNARD
Oxnard Police are looking for suspects in a home invasion robbery and stabbing in that city overnight. A 30-year-old man, and a 54-year-old woman, told police they were asleep in their home in the 400 block of South D Street around 2:25 AM Friday when they were awakened by the sounds of people jumping the fence into their rear yard. They said the next thing they knew, two suspects had entered their bedroom, demanding money and property. During the incident, the male victim was stabbed a number of times, the female was not injured. The suspects got some money and property from the victims and then fled. The male victim was treated for minor stab wounds at the hospital and then released. Police describe the suspects as a 22-year-old Hispanic female, 5 foot 6 inches tall, medium build with a beige shirt and jeans. The male suspect was 46-years-old, 5 foot 6 or 5 foot 7 inches tall, medium build with dark clothing. Anyone with information is asked to call the Oxnard Police Violent Crimes Hotline at (805) 982-7070

It seems everytime I log on, it's another violent crime in the major stories. And the writing - to tell you the truth, I sometimes read the comments first because they are much more entertaining and informative. I don't want to start putting down Oxnard but really, how can someone not by reading this paper? Is it THAT bad or are other cities ignored? BTW, I could never hear someone jumping over my fence. Were they yelling, talking, how do you hear someone jump the fence? Maybe I'm deaf.

If this was at my house the story might go somthing like this...
Ventura couple were woken up this morning at about 2:55 am to the sound of people jumping over their fence. One of the occupants of the house greeted the would be robbers at the back door with his loaded shotgun. The police were called and the subjects were taked to jail (luckily not to the hospital).

This is the most ridiculous story I have ever heard. Sounds like a wife swap gone wrong.
Posted by handyhood on September 5, 2008 at 8:52 a.m. (Suggest removal)
wittyusername- the area where this happened is in the historic Oxnard section of town. Many of the fences in the area are old wood fences in which case you might hear some one jumping, but to go back to sleep? That is some thing else completely! Who would go back to sleep? How did the suspects get into the home? Forced entry? Unlocked door? Weird story and it seems the truth may not be being told.

If we didn't hear someone jumping our fence, our two dogs would.
And how did they get into the house? Through a window? Unlocked door?

vcsreader28-Yes, something doesn't sound right. A 22 year old girl running around with a 46 year old man? Then a 30 year old man with a 54 year old woman. Wife Swap is right....
Poorly written article!
Posted by AnnaWhaat on September 5, 2008 at 9:03 a.m. (Suggest removal)
I agree they should have put approximately for the ages. Either that or they knew them. Could be they heard the noise and went down stairs or into the living room then the suspects entered the bedroom window. They probably slept with it open. I am guessing on all of this.
But glad the male victim is going to be ok. Guess we will have to wait and see.........or go through the court calender on Monday but then we would have to check every name. It would take hours!!!!!!!!! I will wait for the names.
Posted by hotwildflower on September 5, 2008 at 9:03 a.m. (Suggest removal)
a 30 year old man and a 54 year old woman were sharing a bed? Ok, I know...double standard, but seriously...that is almost as off as knowing the age of the suspects and nothing else.
Posted by Jewels on September 5, 2008 at 9:05 a.m. (Suggest removal)
So far I have to agree with everyone on here. The whole thing is so vague and again..how do you get the ages of the suspects? I don't get it.
Posted by BeaHappi on September 5, 2008 at 9:12 a.m. (Suggest removal)
Here's the story:
Disgusted by the actions of their wife/mother, a father/daughter teamed up late Thursday night to stage a fake robbery, so that they could eliminate the cougar hunter from the picture.
Extreme measures? Some might say yes. But the unlawful practice of "poaching" has got to stop!
I do hope that the stabbing victim recovers from his wounds. That must have been quite a wake-up call!

Junior-back in the day I forgot my house keys and I was sneaking in through the back door of our house and my mom thought I was a burgler and she flipped the light on and yelled "who are you and want do you want?" so maybe, just maybe these guys said "how old are you and what are you wearing?" I mean hey, it could happen. lol I teased my mom for that one for years.
But I'm sure liability is the reason for lack of names.

You guys make me laugh!! Its sad to know how helpless we are when it comes to robberies/criminals. My uncle woke up to a man in his living room, the man grabbed a champagne bottle tried to hit my uncle in the head (luckily the bottle wasn't harmed it was expensive!) So, my uncle fires his shotgun shoots the man in the leg (my uncle didn't wana kill him) One month later my uncle is in jail facing a 20yr sentence for attempted murder because the burglar didn't 'have any deadly weapons' AND what's more the burglar sued my uncle for 3.6 million because his leg was amputated. My uncle has been in jail for the past 7yrs... See people, were pretty much *u!ked. There is no way were getting rid of crime anytime here in the good ol 805. 1) We all pack and move the heck outta here
2) Grab a gun of ur preference and shoot yourself. Hell chances are someone will do it for you anyway.

maybe they weren't in bed together, maybe it was a mother (54) and son(30) and the perps only went after the son because they knew him. Maybe the residents both heard the noise but not necessarily in the same bedroom. Just a thought....

High_Society,
That story just angers me...the stinking gang bangers are such pansies that they have to go 5 on 1! Now, I don't condone violence, but come on...if you have a beef and are going to box someone, make it a fair one on one...these guys are the biggest cowards!!! I hope they know their reputation as a bunch of wimps because they can't handle situations on their own but have to go in masses or armed with weapons to attack a single person.
Posted by BeaHappi on September 5, 2008 at 11:25 a.m. (Suggest removal)
hotwildflower...you're right; they are pansies! The only time they'll go 1:1 is if they have a gun or knife in their hands.
They are cowards!
Thanks HS for the update on your blog.

I know I’m the 1st one to say we shouldn’t assume anything, but this story is just too bizarre not to! I say this was some crazy “role play” (if you know what I mean) that went wrong. A little “Swingtown” action gone bad. How else to explain this story?
Posted by Comments on September 5, 2008 at 2:04 p.m. (Suggest removal)
It's clear that the Star merely cuts and pastes (maybe changes or omits a few words here and there) the press releases they receive from the police. There doesn't appear to be any investigative reporting going on at all. I wonder if a reporter even called a detective for confirmation or to see if there were further information.
I agree with previous posters who question how the exact ages of the perps are known. If the victims knew the perps and named them I can understand why that info might be withheld. However, the article could've been written in such a way that made that clear w/o providing the names. And if no names are known, then a better way to have worded the description was the the suspect seemed to be approx 22 yrs old. At any rate, there is definitely more missing to this story.

I think I got it.
A 30 year guy living with his 54 year old mom was stabbed when a man, who was 46 years old, jumped the fence with his 22 year old daughter, and stabbed 30 year guy when they entered the bedroom.
The only thing that doesn't fit is why the guy and his mom were in the same bedroom. Did this happen in Alabama?

fkdupnoodle,Thats just not right! If someone is in your home and you fear for your life you have every right to shoot them. Get an attorney and fight this and sue the idiot for court and attorney fee's. If the robber is outside your home you can not shoot them. If you do drag them in your house !!!!!!!!! If your Uncle has been in prison for 7 years, omg! Get another attorney and file an appeal and sue the state...
getreal ,Very good point! It didn't say the same bedroom just that they got out of bed. Most people in VC sleep with thier windows open. The guy probably entered through that while they were in the living room or something.
high_society , I believe I read that the guy had shown the gun to a group of people. And a female called her Dad to tell him and he told her to call the cops. The guy must have had a beef with the victim and they were probably watching the bus stops near his house???????
Like I said send the adults to Twin Towers in LA. Maybe they will take them!!!!Its as bad or worse then prison.......
Posted by handyhood on September 5, 2008 at 6:44 p.m. (Suggest removal)
Annawhaat- the problem with the twin towers is that it is so overcrowded that people end up only doing about 10% of thier time. At least at Todd Rd. they do 85%.

fkdupnoodle,
I agree with Anna, it doesn't seem possible that he is in jail for that reason. I think he had a bad attorney or your leaving out some important details. The second sounds more likely since you were more worried about the champagne bottle then your uncle. Maybe he had a felony charge and wasn't suppose to have a weapon.

Sounds to me like a set up. Maybe the 54 yr old wanted to eliminate the 30 yr old, and ordered a fake robbery attempt, and the perp did not expect the marked individual to be able to defend him self so well.
Crazy!
