When you are forced to drive into the wind, some adjustments might help:
1) Tee the ball lower than usual, even with today's large clubheads.
2) Close the stance slightly to flatten the swing so as to swing more around the body.
3) Play the ball more toward the center of your stance to encourage a lower trajectory.
4) Slightly toe-in the clubface. Then grip the club.
5) Shorten the backswing a bit.
6) Shorten the follow through and keep it lower than usual.
7) This is the most important thing to do: Swing easier to put less backspin on the ball. The tendency into the wind is to instinctively swing harder, which may elevate the ball too much.
The lower the ball flight, the less the wind will affect it.
8) Finally, expect less distance and don't stress about it. When you take on a headwind, you lose! Adjust for it and deal with it.
