Job seekers can use new kiosk

A kiosk connecting job seekers to employment listings in Ventura County is due to open next week at Pacific View mall in Ventura.

Users will be able to tap on a computer screen and get up-to-date online job listings from the kiosk in front of the Sears store on the mall's lower level, officials at the Workforce Investment Board of Ventura County said.

The listings can be e-mailed to the job seeker from the kiosk, called JobLink.

Listings will be shown for positions at stores in the mall as well as for other jobs in Ventura County available on the Web site http://www.venturacountyjcc.org.

Bill Hicks, past chairman of the investment board, said the kiosk allows job seekers to get information on positions available at the large mall in a central place instead of going from store to store.

The investment board also supports county Job & Career Centers, which offer free assistance to job seekers.

For information, call 800-500-7705 or visit http://www.wib.ventura.org.

What a great idea. I hope unemployed (and under-employed) locals will use this resource.

Keep trying. Hit the bricks every day if you want a job.

What would unemployed people be doing at the Prison View Mall? You can't afford to buy stuff if you're unemployed!

iam_caine: very insightful. There are several Job and Career Centers around the county - away from the evils of Old Navy!

Then there is the EDD, again multiple locations.

Open a phone book and ALL this infomation is available to YOU.
