Hiring dem Consultants...

Well folks here we go again, the Gang in the Ivory Tower (Ventura City Council), using their ultimate power of intelligence has decided to appease a very small handful of midtown residents that are up in arms over the fact that they may... or may not... lose some of the view that they may ... or may not... have from where ever they live.

Irregardless of the fact that the person heading up this extreme minority group is a recently new addition to our city from of all places, New York, (talk about no views), and the fact that this entire issue is coming up for vote during the November 2009 elections and will more than likely be shot down, the Gang in the Ivory Tower has decided, (sans Andrews & Monahan) to spend $110,000.00 to hire consultants from Torti Gallas and Partners, Inc.1300 Spring Street Silver Spring, Maryland 20910 to "assist" a task force exploring the issue of public-view protection.

What this all boils down to is the Gang in the Ivory Tower is spending another $110,000.00 of our tax money to decide whether new buildings should be 1 story, 2 stories or higher. Now of course the city of Ventura has a very capable Planning Department, an exceptional Engineering Department and scores of building codes to cover just about every imaginable situation that may arise concerning development within the city. Ask anybody who has ever built or tried to build a home in the city.

Council Gang Member, Mr Bill Fulton says he believes the cost is "OK" because it would assist the task force, (who never asked for help), and the city could use the computer model for future projects, righty on Bill, have you ever looked at all the consultants reports that the city has stashed in the dingy dark basement closet? Of course Council Gang Member, Mr Ed Summers, (a banker) added "this will be fundamental to future staff efforts". The only problem with that thinking is the fact that the Gang in the Ivory Tower never uses the full potential of the city staff, they would rather hire "consultants."

So once again the Gang in the Ivory Tower has decided to prove to one and all just how much they have the future of our city in mind, they still think they can spend our tax money on any illogical operation that comes along.
