So, you are not an artist or a mural impressionist, but you want the look of being somewhere completely different; try wallpaper murals. This is an opportunity to be whisked away to some far away place and bring it to life in your home or office.
There are a lot to of murals to review. Choose wisely by taking into consideration the room size, the murals' representation within the confines of the room and planning how to accessorize.
1. First go to a wallpaper place with lots of variety. Do not go to a standard cookie cutter wallpaper store. Go to a Specialty Wallpaper store or surf the internet.
2. Have the time to scour thru the books; do not do this particular project in a rush. If you are on a timetable, do it some other time because you won't find what you are looking for when you're in a rush.
3. Have an idea of what you like before going on the hunt for the special mural. There are a lot of choices out there. It can become very confusing if you don't have a basic idea of what scene/mood you want to accomplish in the room.
4. Once you find the picture of choice. MEASURE, MEASURE, MEASURE. If the measurement is off then the whole project is ruined....no if and or buts about it. You do not want a picture too big or too small for the room. You want to accomplish a lie to the eye; achieving the feasibility of the mural as an actual occurrence in the room.
5. Find an EXCELLENT wallpaper hanger to hang the mural. There is a method to the madness. You DO NOT want to see all the individual squares on the walls or the overlap marks. You want a beautiful huge picture. A gifted wallpaper person can accomplish this for you and it will take time to hang. So DO NOT rush the wallpaper hanger.
6. Now once the mural is up...accessorize within reason. Add dimension and believability to the mural thru the accessorizing.
7. Be careful with the paint colors. Make them an extension of the mural concept.
8. Once all is in place enjoy your new respite.....
