Simi's Seniors are busy in November

Exciting and varied activities for seniors are planned over the next few months. Those age 50 and over are invited and encouraged to attend. Pre-registration is required. Contact the Simi Valley Senior Center (805) 583-6363 or stop by 3900 Avenida Simi, Simi Valley.

A trip to Fantasy Springs Casino is planned for Friday, November 14, 7:45am-6:00pm, $37.00 per person. Transportation by motor coach is provided. The Intermediate Computer class will teach you more about Windows XP, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Publisher. The classes are on Wednesdays, October 29-December 10, 6-8 p.m., $46.00.

Bring your own teacup and learn tea etiquette, the history of tea, the different kinds of tea and how to brew them, and more during the Tea Time class offered three Wednesdays, November 5-19, 7-8:30 p.m, $20.00. The ever-popular History of Chocolate class teaches all about chocolate - including recipes and tasting. There will be one class, Tuesday, October 21, 6:30-8:30 p.m., $5.00.

Other programs include: Hawaiian dance class, seven weeks, beginning Saturday, November 1, 10-11am, $28.00; Scrap booking class, Mondays, ongoing, 3-6 p.m., $5 quarterly fee; Scrap booking class, Thursdays, ongoing, 9 a.m.-12 p.m., $5 quarterly fee; Walking tour of Corriganville Park, Saturday, November 8, 10 a.m.-12 p.m., $5; and the hiking club holds local hikes from easy to difficult, call for dates and times.

Health-related classes include: Creative Aging, Fridays, October 31-December 19, 6:30-8:30 p.m., $24 with a lab fee of $15; and Dementia and Alzheimer's class called "Learn how to stay younger," Tuesday, November 4, 1-2:30 p.m., free.
