Ventura Raceway was rained out on Saturday night
The Ventura Racing Association Sprint Cars and Senior Sprints will return to action Oct. 18 as part of the D'Angelos Sprint Car Shootout. The top VRA drivers will be battling for a $2,000 winning race prize and a $500 bonus for the top points producer.
Ventura Raceway will be dark this Saturday. The VRA Dwarf Cars will travel to Santa Maria Speedway on Saturday.

In other racing news, Agoura Hills' Tim Huddleston finished second in the Auto Club Late Models feature at Irwindale's Toyota Speedway. The racing was called after 51 laps because of inclement weather. Andrew Myers of Huntington Beach was proclaimed the winner. Huddleston won the division championship. Nick Joanides of Woodland Hills finished third in the race and placed second in the final points standings.
Rich Garver of Torrance captured the Justice Brothers Mini Stocks division championship.
Fans who purchased tickets for last Saturday's race can reuse them for the Oct. 25 Pick Your Parts West Coast Outlaw Figure 8 championship and the ASA Speed Truck Challenge. This Saturday will be the Formula Drift Championship and the track will be dark on Oct. 18.

Perris sprint cars: Tony Jones of Norco won his fourth 30-lap feature at Perris Auto Speedway on Saturday night. Blake Miller, the former VRA champion from Yorba Linda, was second. Camarillo's Josh Ford finish ninth and Ventura's Cory Kruseman was 16th. Miller had fast qualifying with a 16.716-second lap.
Racing returns to Perris on Oct. 18. Temecula's Mike Spencer leads the series with 1,251 points. Miller is second at 1,883. Kruseman is sixth with 884 points and Ford is ninth with 690.
