When journalist Daniel Pearl was killed by extremists in Pakistan, his family wanted people to remember his life rather than the tragedy of his death.
Danny was a fine classical violinist who recognized the ability of music to bridge differences among people. In the spirit of Danny's love of music and commitment to dialogue, Daniel Pearl World Music Days was launched in 2002 by the Daniel Pearl Foundation, founded by Danny's parents. Using the power of music to promote tolerance and inspire respect for differences, Daniel Pearl World Music Days has grown to include thousands of performers in 60 countries.
