World War II open cockpit trainer available for rides

The Commemorative Air Force Aviation Museum at Camarillo Airport will commemorate the "Pearl Harbor" attack of December 7, 1941. There will be special displays and exhibits, World War II aircraft on display, photo opportunities in the cockpit of a WW II fighter, vintage cars, ride opportunities in World War II trainer aircraft, and more activities for the whole family.

At 1:00 Col. James Hinckley, U.S. Army (Ret.) will take visitors back in time to that day and talk about the famous event that took the U.S. into World War II. The Japanese had planned well; their execution of the attack was equally efficient. Many U.S. ships were sunk and 188 aircraft were destroyed.2,403 Americans were killed. The Japanese lost 29 aircraft and 6 submarines.

At 2:00 World War II aircraft will fly over, including the CAF's own real Japanese Zero, one of three still flying today.
