Venture Crew holds Parkour Class

Families with young adults (14 - 20yrs) are welcome to be our guest at any one of our Winter Activities. December 14th, 4pm - 6:30pm, is a Parkour Class at a Gym in Newbury Park. Parkour is a physical discipline inspired by movement. Parkour involves interacting with your surroundings such as vaulting rails, scaling walls and jumping between gaps in order to get to where you want to be. Its the freedom of movement, without restriction. Participants will learn the fundamentals: Jumping, Vaulting, Climbing and Landing Safely. Cost is $20 which includes 1 1/2 hours of Parkour training and 1/2 hour for pizza and drinks.
January 30, 31 and February 1 is our Big Bear Snowboard trip. We stay at a members' house in Lake Arrowhead for a low cost weekend of Snowboarding and winter play.
On the weekend of February 14 - 16 (President's Day weekend) , we are camping and Snowshoeing at Yosemite National Park, Dewey Point area. Our winter outdoor instructors will guide us for a fun, safe, weekend in the snowy outdoors.
The Boy Scouts of America Venture Crew program (a co-ed organization for young men & ladies ages 14 - 20) is unique because it utilizes outdoor adventure such as camping, backpacking, sailing, rock climbing, and service projects, as the method for building character, peer-to-peer bonds, and leadership. Members of a Venture Crew will learn important skills like team building, public speaking, and how to organize time to accomplish tasks for school, organizations, and for extracurricular activities.
Venture Crew 9642, sponsored by Simi Valley Elk's Lodge, is interested in helping you to learn more about Venturing's positive youth development program.
