More from County NewsA 50-year-old man was severely beaten and robbed by men who jumped him near a Ventura cafe, police said.
The Ventura man was attacked by three men shortly after 11 p.m. Sunday in an alley behind the Busy Bee Cafe, 478 E. Main St., police said.
A witness called 911 and followed the attackers after they ran off, police said. The attackers were last seen running near Hamilton Hotel on Main Street.
After searching the area and the hotel, officers detained three potential suspects, police said.
No one, however, had been arrested on suspicion of the beating and robbery as of Monday.
The victim was taken to Ventura County Medical Center, where he was in stable condition Monday.
Anyone with information on the incident is asked to call Crime Stoppers anonymously at 800-222-TIPS. Tipsters who give information leading to an arrest can receive a reward of up to $1,000.

Punks, why cant you guys stand toe to toe with three guys your age and aggression to fight. Oh that's right because you would get your angels kicked right.

I don't like fighting because people get hurt. But, if three kids are foolish enough to try that with me, they better hope that they heal in the hospital. And hopefully never do it again. I trained in Shoto Kahn for a year and it taught me everything I needed to know, plus some development in my strength to handle three guys effectively. Usually, when the other two guys hear the broken bones and cries from their friend, that is usually the end of it. Unless it takes the second one to get hurt also. I would gladly punish those that need it. Unfortunately it appears that this poor guy wasn't trained in martial arts defense. I feel bad for the guy. Also, why is being 50 such a big deal. I'm 50 and it's an asset not detriment.

I think they made a point of the age 50 because this is the peak of a man's strength and confidence. It takes a lot of courage to try to mess with a 50 year old.
