Santa Paula labor agreement possible soon
A labor issue involving the Santa Paula wastewater treatment plant project might soon be resolved.
The agreement follows a long debate over the use of local versus out-of-state contractors and labor on the construction project.
The plant is being built by Santa Paula Water, a joint venture between builder PERC and Alinda Partners, which is doing the financing.
Several labor unions and Santa Paula Water have yet to sign a labor agreement, said Tony Skinner of the Tri-Counties Building and Construction Trades Council. He expected the agreement to gain all the necessary signatures in the coming weeks.
