What are the little things that mean Dad' to you?

Order Photos

That ridiculous song he sang every morning.

His nickname for you.

That silly fishing hat he wore or that embarrassing "Kiss the cook" apron.

The way he always brought you a T-shirt from wherever he went on a business trip.

When you think of your dad, what image or thought comes to mind?

Whether your dad is gone or still around, whether he is young or old, we would like to hear about the little things that mean "Dad" to you. Photos? Even better.

E-mail your thoughts of Dad to Kim Lamb Gregory at kgregory@VenturaCountyStar.com, or write her in care of the Ventura County Star, P.O. Box 6006, Camarillo, CA 93011.

Please remember to include your daytime phone number.

Share that special retreat that's all about you

It may be a corner of the kitchen or it may be a closet, but it's all yours.

You've got it decorated just the way you like it with a desk fountain, a beloved bobblehead or a lucky crystal sparkling over the desk.

Whether it's outside or inside, it's a retreat where you can go to work or relax or just get a break from the kids.

If you've got a special retreat that's all about you, we'd like to see it.

Tell us about it and, if possible, e-mail a high-resolution JPEG image, as well, to Kim Lamb Gregory at kgregory@VenturaCountyStar.com.

Or you can write to Gregory in care of the Ventura County Star, P.O. Box 6006, Camarillo, CA 93011.

Please remember to include your daytime phone number.
