CIF INDIVIDUAL REGIONALS
Rounds at Cate and Carpinteria highs, Friday
Singles — Thousand Oaks' Kyle McMorrow defeated Jordan Hovis of West Ranch 6-2, 6-1 and then defeated Sasha Guryaznov of Dos Pueblos 6-0, 6-2. Oxnard's Sasha Hedberg, who had a first-round bye, won his first match, 7-6 (4), 6-2, but lost to Malibu's Danny Moss 6-0, 6-0 in the third round. McMorrow and Moss advanced to the round of 16 on Friday at Seal Beach.
Doubles — Agoura High's Darren Dahl and Daniel Kane, after a first-round bye, lost just four games in winning their second- and third-round matches. Denis Lin and Marcos Giron of Thousand Oaks, who also had a first-round bye, won easily in the second and third rounds.

CIF-SS Division I playoffs, first round at El Toro, Friday
Highlights: Agoura — The fourth-place Marmonte League Chargers stunned the Sea View League champion Chargers by scoring once in the second, once in the fifth and twice in the sixth. Shortstop Desiree Beltran had a single, a double and scored twice. Designated player Brittany Oster added a single, a double and two RBIs. Kim Green (13-9) threw a seven-hitter. El Toro — Allie Dorr and Chris Capobiance hit solo homers.
Records: Agoura 15-11, El Toro 22-8-1.
