3-mile hike will raise funds to build home
Tyler Broberg Memorial Roller Coaster Hike will start at 8 a.m. May 31 at the Wood Ranch trailhead.
The group 1life2live is working to raise $50,000 for Habitat for Humanity in the memory of the 16-year-old Royal High School student who drowned last year. The group wants to see a Habitat home built for a family in Simi Valley.
The 3-mile hike is through open space between Simi Valley and Thousand Oaks. The trailhead is at the Wood Ranch Parkway and Long Canyon Road. Registration is $25.
After Broberg's death, 1life2live started raising money in his honor by selling merchandise and collecting donations. So far, the group has raised more than $41,000. For more information, or to register, go to the Web site at http://www.1life2live.org.
