Brendan Garrett has been named as the boys' basketball coach at Hueneme High, announced athletic director Juan Flores.
Garrett replaces Craig Davis, who was the school's head coach the last two seasons. Garrett was a Hueneme assistant last season.
Hueneme finished 3-15 last season.
"Brendan brings a fresh new level of enthusiasm to the program," said Flores. "We're grateful and excited about adding him to the athletic program. In a few years, we will be reading about his accomplishments at Hueneme."
Hueneme is searching for a head varsity girls' coach, according to Flores.
