Arts resource guides now available
As part of the city of Ventura's goal to create a vibrant cultural destination on the West Coast, the Cultural Affairs Division has created three resource guides for the arts community.
"Your Guide to Arts Resources in Ventura" provides an outline of business opportunities and resources for arts organizations, businesses and artists representing all disciplines (visual, dance, music, theater and literature).
"MAVericks: Marketing the Arts in Ventura Resource Guide" offers a comprehensive list of support organizations, marketing Web sites, services, a marketing tool kit, and an updated media contact list to help artists and arts organizations raise public awareness about their work.
The "Let's Plan an Event" brochure offers event planning advice on topics ranging from budget to volunteers to the permit process.
The publications developed by experts in the areas of cultural development, arts marketing and festival coordination are available online at http://www.cityofventura.net/community_services/cultural_affairs/publication_resource.asp.
To request a printed version, contact Julie Maechler, cultural affairs specialist, at jmaechler@ci.ventura.ca.us or at 658-4759.
