CLU talk to focus on female ministers
A Camarillo woman who wrote a book about the struggles and triumphs of female ministers will speak about the topic at 5 p.m. Monday at California Lutheran University.
Sarah Sentilles' book, "A Church of Her Own: What Happens When a Woman Takes the Pulpit," was released by Harcourt in April. The author entered the lives of a variety of female ministers in a range of churches to paint a portrait of what it is like to serve as a woman of faith today. She follows their stories from their calls to serve through their struggles to win over tough congregants.
The author earned a bachelor's degree in literature from Yale University and a master of divinity degree from Harvard Divinity School. She received the Billings Preaching Prize, served as managing editor of the Journal of Feminist Studies in Religion and founded a WomenChurch community.
The free presentation will take place in Overton Hall near Memorial Parkway on the Thousand Oaks campus.

Your own private Indiana
We want your "Indiana Jones" memories and anecdotes.
The opening next week of "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull," directed by Steven Spielberg and starring Harrison Ford and Karen Allen, is bringing back a lot of memories — some dating back to 1981, when Spielberg, Ford and Allen made the classic "Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark." ("The Temple of Doom" (1984) and "The Last Crusade" (1989) followed; "Kingdom" is the fourth in the "Indiana Jones" series.)
So, what are your Indiana Jones memories? Better yet, do you know someone who looks like the rugged hero?
