Monday is deadline to register to vote
Monday is the last day to register to vote in the June 3 primary election.
Although California's presidential primary was held in February, the regular statewide primary is in June. Sample ballots have already been mailed, along with applications for absentee ballots.
In Ventura County, voters will choose nominees for Congress, state Assembly and state Senate seats up for grabs in the November general election. West Ventura County's three seats on the Board of Supervisors also are on the June ballot, as is a county judge position and seats on the Republican and Democratic central committees.
Voters will also decide a bond measure in the Mesa Union School District, a parcel tax renewal in the Oak Park Unified School District, a traffic and growth-control measure in Thousand Oaks, and a proposed development at the east end of Santa Paula.
Voter registration forms are available at the county elections office, which is downstairs in the county Hall of Administration at Victoria Avenue and Telephone Road in Ventura. They are also available throughout the county at city halls, post offices, libraries, fire stations and chambers of commerce. They must be mailed to the elections office with a postmark of Monday or earlier.
Registered voters can request a sample ballot as late as May 27.
