Students entering grades 1 - 8 in the fall are eligible to apply for "Pizazz" - a summer musical arts camp - that takes place August 11 - 15. The Pizazz 2008 theme is "Nature's Harmony." Featured during the weeklong camp will be the harmony in music, the music in nature and the life and music of Aaron Copland.

Sponsored by music ministry at the United Methodist Church of Westlake Village, the schedule for this week of musical experiences is Monday - Thursday 9 a.m.-12:30 p.m., and Friday 9 a.m.-2:30 p.m. plus a 7 p.m. celebration performance for participants' parents and friends. Extended day care may be provided, if needed, for an additional fee.

Tuition, which includes a $25 non-refundable application fee, is $100 if application and full payment are received by June 1, and $125 after that date. The fee includes a snack each day and a T-shirt with the Pizazz 2008 logo. Limited scholarship assistance is available.

Celebrating its 16th year, Pizazz stresses the joy of music through a variety of musical experiences in a non-religious arts curriculum. A highly qualified staff uses singing, handbell and choir chime ringing, choreographed movement and music

enrichment to make the week an exciting adventure.

Applications are accepted on a space-available basis. A waiting list will be

established when maximum enrollment of 120, eight groups of 15 students, is reached.

The church is located at 1049 S. Westlake Blvd. Brochures and application/ medical release forms are available by calling the church office: (805) 497-7884 or (818) 889-5431, or can be printed from the home page of the church Web site: www.umcwv.org.
