Man seriously hurt in motorcycle crash
A 45-year-old Thousand Oaks man was seriously injured Sunday night in a solo motorcycle crash in Camarillo, authorities said.
Michael Roberts was thrown from his motorcycle about 6:08 p.m. as he accelerated at a high speed out of a private road onto Calle San Pablo near Pleasant Valley Road and lost control of the vehicle, sheriff's Sgt. Harold Hanley said.
Roberts was taken to St. John's Pleasant Valley Hospital in Camarillo with serious injuries. His condition was not available Monday.

My heartfelt prayers go out to this mans family. I hope God grant them the strength to come together as a loving family and pray for full recovery and rejoice in the love for this man. I recently lost my brother in law in a motorcycle accident just 3 weeks ago. I will be praying for him and his family

My prayers to this man and his family... perhaps his throttle stuck, or something happened mechanically on his bike. We shouldn't assume anything - and we're not here to judge. I ride motorcycles, and MOST of the time our biggest danger is not ourselves, our bikes, or our speed... it's the drivers in their cars not seeing us because they don't pause long enough to make sure there isn't a bike there (they're just looking for cars). Before I started riding, I, too, only looked for cars... Also - the folks in their cars are busy tuning the radio, changing CDs & DVDs, making cell phone calls, text messaging, eating, yelling at the kids, or whatever other distraction we all have fallen to. All of us in our cars, SUVs, and mini-vans - please remember to take a second look for a motorcycle out there. Due to the high gas prices, I'd ride my bike more if I didn't have kids to cart around and didn't have to dress up for work. Plus - I love riding!

Funny how motorcyclists want respect from car drivers, shame they don't give cyclist respect when they speed up and around the canyons passing cyclist doing 80mph within inches! drive with respect and you will get it back.

Maybe motorcyclist should think to control their speeds on open roads, take for example another motorcyclist on the same day, sent to the same hospital, and the same age, hit a bicyclist traveling at excessive speeds on Bradly the same day at 9:30am.,how ironic to make a point of speeding could hurt somebody. I hope he is doing well considering the circumstance.
