The final session, this semester, of Dessert and Discourse in Camarillo will be held Tuesday, May 20, from 7:00 to 9:00 P.M. in room 160, on the Camarillo Health Care District campus, 3639 E. Las Posas Rd., Camarillo.
Chris School Political Science professor at CSUCI will lead the group in a discussion on "The U.S. and the Global Economy: The Free Trade Debate"
Topics of contention among Americans often concern the effects of globalization and whether free trade holds more opportunities or threats. Dr. Scholl will describe the contours of these debates and evaluate them in light of evidence about the impact of globalization on the U.S.
Chris Scholl got his Ph.D. in Political Science from The Ohio State University in 2000 and was a professor of Political Science and Director of International Studies and Study Abroad at Wheeling Jesuit University in West Virginia until June 2006. His research focuses on issues of global development and international organizations.
