Students from the five Ventura high schools will take part in a leadership summit Friday at City Hall.
The Teen Voice summit will bring together 80 high school students from the Ventura Unified School District to interact with professionals in workshops on student motivation, conflict resolution, leadership development, developmental assets and team building. There also will be a forum with the Ventura Police Department.
The event will take place from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the community room at 501 Poli St.
The goal of the event, sponsored by the Ventura Community Services Department, is to build positive relationships between high school students and the community and to provide students opportunities for community involvement.
