A 23-year-old Santa Paula man was in jail Sunday after police say he threatened a teenager with a knife.
Officers from the Santa Paula Police Department received a call about 11:40 p.m. Saturday reporting that a man had brandished a knife in the area of Mill and Main streets.
Police said they found Victor Galdamez nearby with a knife and arrested him.
Police said a 15-year-old boy had been seated in a vehicle in the 400 block of Ojai Road when Galdamez asked him for a cigarette and drugs.
When the boy said he didn't have any, police said Galdamez took out a knife and "made a jabbing motion toward" the boy's face before fleeing south on foot.
The boy called his father and both followed the man as they called police, authorities said. Galdamez was booked into Ventura County Jail on charges of assault with a deadly weapon. His bail is $20,000.
