Rescuers come to aid of baby, swimmer

A baby who fell into a pool and a distressed swimmer kept the Ventura County Sheriff's Department busy on opposite sides of the county Sunday afternoon.

The Sheriff's Department received a call at 4:04 p.m. about a baby who had fallen into a pool in a home in the 3000 block of Verde Vista Drive in Thousand Oaks. According to the Sheriff's Department, the mother pulled her son out of the pool, and the baby's grandfather began giving him mouth-to-mouth resuscitation. He was apparently breathing normally when he was transported shortly afterward to Los Robles Hospital & Medical Center in Thousand Oaks. Names were not available at press time.

The other water-related incident called deputies to Lions Camp in Los Padres National Forest near Ojai just after 3 p.m. Sunday. There are two swimming holes in the area. A male swimmer with a previous back injury became distressed, according to the dispatch operator, and a medevac unit was called. The swimmer was reportedly uninjured, according to the operator, but was taken by helicopter to Ventura County Medical Center in Ventura. The name and age of the swimmer was unavailable.

"Lions Camp in Los Padres National Forest near Ojai"

I hope the three leg red head turtle eating frog was not injured! This area has been closed for human use for many years! I have only seen pictures of the frog and have swimmed there for over 20 years before it was closed down. I think the Tree Hugging Club uses photo shop to create these endangered animals!

Yeah, I have seen the 5 legged red head turtle eating frog before... but that was down on creek road near the apple cider place. I think they are from the same family. I think the 5 legged one's taste real good when deep fried! I wish I could find and try one of those 3 legged ones!
