Police select 2008 Officer of the Year

More from County NewsThe Simi Valley Police Department has named Detective Greg Gonzales its Officer of the Year for 2008.
Gonzales, a Simi Valley officer since 1997, will be honored at the City Council meeting on June 23 at 6:30 p.m. He was picked for the award by his peers.
Gonzales, who grew up in Thousand Oaks, has worked a variety of police assignments, including patrol, special operations unit, and investigations. In addition to his regular duties, he has been a member of the department's SWAT team since 2000.
