Long time Bunnin employee promoted to head up Internet Division

More from CarsAs soon as Brian Roberts speaks to a customer on the lot or over the phone, their immediate reaction is "Did you used to be on the radio?" That's because he was. For more than 30 years, Roberts was a DJ for such popular Los Angeles radio stations like K-EARTH, KZLA, Magic 106 FM, KRLA-FM and with Westwood One Radio Network. But he also grew up in the auto business and by coincidence his father knew Leo Bunnin's father. So, when Bunnin expanded his operations in Oxnard, Roberts came to work at Bunnin GM Supercenter as Fleet Manager in August 2002.
At the recent monthly employee lunch, it was announced that Roberts will now head up the dealership's Internet sales division as Internet Director. He has more than six years experience in Bunnin Fleet and Internet sales so the transition was a natural one. "With so many of our customers shopping us on the Internet, it's my responsibility to make sure they're getting the lowest possible price on any new Buick, Pontiac, GMC or Cadillac, while still delivering the highest in personal service," Roberts said.
Roberts also will oversee Bunnin's Business Development Center where he hopes to fill positions available from local candidates with internet experience.
In the meantime he'll continue selling more than 200 cars, trucks, and SUVs a year to customers throughout the Southland. And the next time you hear a Bunnin radio commercial listen to the voice; Roberts hasn't completely gotten out of the radio business — it is his voice you'll hear on all those spots.
