The Simi Valley Elks Lodge, 1561 Kuehner Drive, was closed on May 7 thru the 10th for a Hallmark movie shoot. The movie will focus on the Love of Family'. It's about a teenage boy and a Grandfather (Ed Ashner) who takes him in and helps him work through the problems. The 11th of May is Mother's Day, so the Special Events Crew, Officers and volunteers will be working hard to prepare for the 350 plus guests at the Mother's Day Brunch. The Elks serve a scrumptious meal which they present free to all Elks members' grandmothers, mothers and wives. The Officers present a special Ceremony dedicated to Moms. The floral decorations and the beautiful Moms all dressed up set the atmosphere for this yearly event. If you miss the Mother's Day Brunch, be sure and watch for the Hallmark movie to see how great the Elks Lodge looks.
