Weeklong Chumash culture sessions available

Traditional Chumash Culture weeklong sessions will be conducted by the Museum of Ventura County at the Albinger Archaeological Museum in Ventura. Sessions are scheduled for 9 a.m. to noon June 16-20 and June 23-27. The Chumash Youth Program is designed for children entering fourth or fifth grades.

Students in the program are immersed in the culture of early Ventura County Native Americans through stories, hands-on crafts, traditional skills and Chumash artifacts

The sessions are $45 for children of nonmuseum members, $40 for children of museum members. For a registration form, call 641-1876, ext. 300, or visit http://www.venturamuseum.org. Scholarships are available.
