FOOD Share's 'Stamp Out Hunger' drive will be Saturday
Ventura County residents are being asked to fill grocery bags with donations of food for the needy Saturday so letter carriers can pick them up when they deliver the mail.
FOOD Share, the regional food bank conducting the drive in collaboration with the National Letter Carriers Association, is asking residents to donate nonperishable foods. The food bank is specifically seeking peanut butter, jelly, canned meat, soup, beans and rice in the "Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive."
The drive will be throughout the county.
FOOD Share distributes food through pantries, nonprofit organizations and churches as well as its own programs directly serving the needy. More than 100,000 people are served yearly, officials said.
For more information on the drive, contact Lance Ferguson at 983-7100, ext. 135.
