Carriage Square area street repairs set to start

Work to rebuild and resurface streets in the Carriage Square neighborhood is set to begin Thursday, the Oxnard Public Works Department announced.

No-parking signs will be posted to let residents know when they need to keep their vehicles off the street. A vehicle left on a street that is being worked on will be towed at the owner's expense.

Work will continue from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., and officials expect it will take 60 days to complete all the streets. The project is bounded by Gonzales Road to the north, Doris Avenue to the south, H Street to the west and Oxnard Boulevard to the east.

TORO Enterprises Inc. is removing old asphalt and replacing it, slurry sealing, repairing concrete, working on utility lines and striping and marking.

The work is not expected to affect emergency vehicles, garbage collection or mail delivery. Residents should put out their trash receptacles as they normally do.

Questions about the project may be directed to the Public Works Department at 385-8136.
