North bound traffic on Highway 33 near Foster Park was backed up this morning after a motorist hit a deer there. The California Highway Patrol was at the scene as of 6:40 a.m. CHP officers said a veterinarian euthanized the deer.
Moorpark residents were literally left in the dark last night after a motorist hit a power pole near the intersection of Rawls Road and Championship Drive, the Ventura County Sheriff's Department reported this morning.
The accident happened about 10 p.m. The motorist, 51, was taken to Simi Valley Hospital with moderate injuries, deputies said. They added she was arrested for suspicion of driving while intoxicated.

Traffic: At 6:45 a.m., the California Highway Patrol was reporting a traffic collision on north bound Highway 101 near the Seacliff exit north of Ventura. The CHP had no further details on the collision.

Weather: There will be patchy fog along the Ventura County coast before 11 a.m. today. Otherwise, it will be sunny with a high near 64. A wind out of the southwest from 7 and 10 mph is expected.
Patchy fog will return tonight with increasing clouds and a low of around 49.
