How to Play: Lost Canyons Sky Course Hole No. 18
Description: The finishing par 4 features a wide fairway sloping a surprising amount from right to left, with a deep pit down the right that serves as the primary hazard to avoid. Prior to the fire, the hazard used to contain sand, cactus and the "Bladderpod" bush that blooms yellow in the spring. The green is large and has two tiers.
How to play it: The best line off the tee is at the first fairway bunker, well out of reach some 330 yards off the tee. Drives flirting with the "snake pit" or even carrying it some 240 yards will be rewarded with a shorter, and more visually appealing approach to the large, sloping green. Drives playing safely down the left face a longer and obstructed view of the putting surface. Though the swale running through this green was already present, the idea for preserving it was inspired by the 15th green at Riviera. The upper front left is the most difficult hole location to access, and it definitely rewards the longer, right-side drives with a better view.
