Mother of the Year to be named by merchants

Las Posas Plaza Merchants Association will honor its Camarillo Mother of the Year on Saturday.

Students from 16 elementary schools write letters every year on why their mothers should win the award, which the association has sponsored for 26 years.

The awards ceremony will begin at 11 a.m. at Las Posas Plaza's Fountain Court, at Las Posas Road and Daily Drive.

Camarillo Mayor Charlotte Craven will present a letter of recognition to the winner.
