Fire guts second story of home
Jason Redmond / Star staff Moorpark 3/26/08: A two-story, single-family residence burns on the 11000 block of Blossomwood Court in Moorpark Wednesday afternoon. Nobody was home at the time of the fire.

More from Local NewsA two-alarm fire gutted the second story of a home in Moorpark on Wednesday and displaced a family of four.
Witnesses said most of the top floor of the home was destroyed. The home is in the 11000 block of Blossomwood Court.
Beverly Millhouse of Lake Sherwood said it was her daughter's home. "The upper level is gone, and the bottom is totally damaged from smoke and water," Millhouse said. "It looks like a total loss."
Millhouse said her son-in-law was at work when the fire started, and her daughter was out of town with their two sons.
Their dog was rescued unharmed from the backyard, Millhouse said.
Ventura County Fire Department firefighters were on the scene within minutes of when the fire was reported at 3:47 p.m.
The cause of the fire was still under investigation late Wednesday, and no damage amount was available, according to Fire Department officials.
