Graywolf

2008 looks to be the year that will transform The Graywolf Blues Band into a HOT commodity.  As stated in their bio, The Graywolf Blues Band from Simi Valley which was formed in 2006 is a blues review in the style of James Brown and currently consists of Graywolf on guitar, Andreas on drums, Stirling on vocals, O'livett on vocals, Winnie on keyboards, Bobby on bass and Alfred panther on percussion and back-up vocals.  Graywolf, who plays lead guitar, is a very talented and experienced musician whose background includes playing with the Art Laboe Oldies but Goodies show at the old El Monte Legion stadium where he backed up such acts as The Coasters, the Drifters, and many other famous acts. He then became a studio musician and worked for Westcoast Motown and for the legendary Johnny Otis and El Dorado records. Graywolf went on to back up acts like Lowell Fulsom, Johnny Guitar Watson and Rosie of "Angel Baby" fame. In the late 70's, Graywolf formed a string of bands including Phaze, Lazer and the notorious Madwhip Thunder which is remembered for giving a lot of young musicians their start. In the mid 80's he began a second career as a band manager and managed the famous Country Club in Reseda for about a year---he gave up playing guitar shortly after that due to severe arthritis. He began playing guitar again in 2000 and shortly after, he met Micki Free who had him play with his band which he still does on occasion. While playing with Micki, he met actress Irene Bedard of "Pocahontas" fame and was asked to play guitar for the Irene Bedard and Deni band. After getting back on stage, Graywolf decided to form his own band at the insistance of Micki Free and thats how The Graywolf Blues band was formed. With all the talent of these great musicians and the unique voice of Stirling Frisbee I see a huge future for this band.  For more info and to view their video go to www.myspace.com/graywolfbluesband
