Four intruders storm condo, hurt resident

Four men armed with guns and knives stormed a Newbury Park condominium occupied by three men about noon Thursday, police said.

When one of the occupants told them he had no money, one of the assailants slashed him with a knife several times, according to the Thousand Oaks Police Department.

The intruders ransacked the condominium in the 600 block of Avenida De La Plata and left with valuables, authorities said.

Police said the stabbing victim was taken to Los Robles Hospital & Medical Center in Thousand Oaks for treatment of non-life-threatening cuts to his head and neck.

The two other occupants were not injured.

Sheriff's deputies canvassed the neighborhood for witnesses, but currently have only vague descriptions of the four men.

Anyone with information is asked to call investigators at 494-8201 or Ventura County Crime Stoppers at 494-TALK. Crime Stoppers will pay a reward up to $1,000 for tips leading to an arrest.

That area isn't the greatest. A few months ago someone was shot to death in the head as they stood outside their house. Also that is near were that man killed that little boy and hurt his mother. A lot of bad things happen in that area.
