"BIG B" SET FOR BLUES FESTIVAL
Fellow musicians refer to Barry "Big B" Brenner as "Mr. Blues, Rags & Stomps!", because he plays the Real Country Folk Blues. Barry has performed all over the USA; from Alaska to the back woods of the Arkansas Ozarks, and out to the California Foothills.Born in Chicago and brought up on the South Side of the Windy City, Barry is a self-taught singer and acoustic guitar virtuoso. At 20 he came to Los Angeles California seek his place in the entertainment industry.Performing alongside such notables as renowned Blues Guitar Maestro Albert King and Eric Burdon of Animals fame, Barry now continues the grand American tradition of solo country bluesman and folk music songster. "Big B" always features 4 different, totally unique sounding acoustic guitars in his live performance sets. You'll hear 6-String, 12-String & National Resonator Guitars, "the way they were always meant to be played." A deep roots Blues singer, Barry's penetrating vocals evoke the true feeling and meaning behind the expression "Down Home Blues" and revitalizes PRE-ELECTRIC BLUES as a truly original American musical gift to the world.Barry will be one of the featured performers at the 3rd Annual Write4Hope Blues Festival to be held on Saturday, April 26 at Oak County Park in Simi Valley. The festival will begin at 10 AM and continue until 6 PM in the beautiful park setting on a California Spring day.Co-sponsored with Kiwanis Club of Simi Valley, this year's event promises to be even bigger than last year. Musician/actor Mickey Jones will Emcee, and headlining will be multi-Grammy nominee, Robben Ford. Also featured will be Jimmy Z and the ZTribe, BB Chung King & The Buddaheads, Michael John & The Bottom Line, Laurie Morvan Band, and surprise musical guests.Food and beverage booths will be available, as well as vendors, and a Harley Davidson display. Raffle tickets are available at $2 each to win one of three autographed guitars. Admission is $20 in advance, or $25 at the gate.
