Recognition dinner set for tonight
The Fillmore Chamber of Commerce tonight will honor officials and residents named the city's best in 2007.
The chamber plans to recognize the city's police officer, firefighter, student, city employee, citizen and business of the year during a banquet at Veterans Memorial Building, 511 Second St., Fillmore.
Sheriff's Deputy Hector Macias will be honored as Fillmore's officer of the year.

The event is scheduled to begin with a social hour at 6 p.m. Dinner will be served at 7 p.m.
Tickets are available for $20 at the Fillmore Chamber of Commerce, 275 Central Ave., or the Fillmore Police Department, 524 Sespe Ave.
