22 arrested in county in immigration operation
Agents from the U.S. Department of Immigration and Customs Enforcement arrested 22 people in Ventura County this week as part of a regional operation aimed at criminals in the country illegally and people who have ignored deportation orders, authorities said Friday.
A total of 345 immigration violators were arrested in Ventura, Santa Barbara, San Luis Obispo, Los Angeles, Orange, San Bernardino and Riverside counties during the weeklong operation, ICE said.
Of the 22 arrested in Ventura County, seven had outstanding deportation orders, ICE officials said. Ten had criminal histories in addition to immigration violations.
Arrests occurred in Oxnard, Ventura, Moorpark and Newbury Park. Most were early-morning raids at residences, officials said.
Of the 345 arrested across Southern California, 238 had deportation orders and 67 had criminal histories in addition to immigration violations, according to ICE.
The majority of those arrested were from Mexico.

Illegal Aliens and Immigration is NOT the same thing. Immigrant is a legal status granted by a sovereign country. We have to many folks who do not know and are ignorant or outright deceivers, confusing illegal alien workers calling them illegal immigrants with immigrants. Criminals did NOT build America; Citizens and LEGAL immigrants built it. American’s want an end to anarchy! This is NOT a Democrat, Republican, Independent issue. It's an American Issue.
Illegal aliens are criminals, those who hire them are criminals and those who aid-and-abet them are criminals.
Illegal aliens in America have NO rights. We are required by law to arrest and prosecute, deport them. (Title 8 U.S. Code) To report illegal aliens call the DHS National Hotline 1 866 DHS 2ICE. (1-866-347-2523)
No, matter your political party affiliation, and setting aside your thoughts on issues. We all need to remember what it is to be an American Citizen. We need to make sure our elected representatives obey their Oath of Office and keep their Oath of Allegiance. See http://tinyurl.com/2znnvl Know whom you are voting for.

Just wondering......they've arrested these people who were likely employed. Anybody interested in going after the employers for turning a blind eye? No, didn't think so. All this screaming and yelling about enforcing our existing laws yet only the part about the workers being here illegally is enforced. It's also illegal to employ someone who does not have legal status. Seems to me it's a two way road. How about a phone number where we can report employers who knowingly hire these people? That's just as illegal.

Twenty two? That's all? That's a typo, right?
Please...I know of 23 on one property alone in El Rio last year. Of course the property owner was unaware of it, right, since he lives elsewhere. It sounds like Immigration is just participating, not enforcing. Their criminal history is irrelevant if they aren't documented, that alone is a crime. Aren't we supposed to use a Visa or Passport when we visit other countries? Oh, that's only if you're not sneeeeeking in or out, my mistake. This is a joke. If they were born here they would be American Mexicans, like American Indians, American Blacks, American Asian, etc. But I forgot that patriotism is only cool if there's a WTC disaster or terrorist threat. What happened to all those American flags that were so popular a few years ago? Did they get folded up and tucked away for the next wave (no pun intended). What a shame.

Why does it take so long to enforce these laws?
When are they going to clear all the illegal immigrants that hang out at the Tipsy Fox in Moorpark? Thousands enter the US everyday and very few get deported monthly. Gee… I wonder why we can’t balance the state budget.

Ok, no more calling them Illegal Aliens after this article. Now it shall be;
Immigration Violators
That should make the pc activists happy, right? Right? Guess not.

"23 on one property in El Rio" "all the illegal immigrants that hang out at the Tipsy Fox"
I can only assume that before either of you would write such a thing, you actually spoke to each and every one of the people you have accused, and ascertained, for certain, that they are here illegally.
Surely none of you would make such presumptions based on skin color, name, or the language spoken around friends and family.
Surely there's no racism or nationalism involved in your judgements.

Folks, the problem is way beyond rounding them up and sending them home. Make the employers responsible for housing, schools and medical care. And one more thing...you can't hate them enough to make them go home. They are here because they have NOTHING in Mexico. How about getting out of NAFTA until Mexico takes care of its own poor people? The solution is not in condemning these people. Wake up. There are somewhere close to 12 million here. Make the employers who are profiting off the cheap and illegal labor pony up to mitigate the problems caused to the infrastructure.

It's interesting that these illegal aliens almost kill themselves to make it to America, and then sing praises about Mexico, the very country that they were literally dying to leave. Pretty stupid. :) smiley face

laura...Please don't assume that I've talked to any of them cause I don't speak the language of their country. It’s views like yours that have helped to create this problem. They are breaking the law and draining our welfare and medical systems. Too many people cry racism if it mentioned and we all need to stop being wimps and stand up to the problem.

Illegal immigrants are costing taxpayers over 200 billion dollars a year for the free benefits they receive.
California has over 1 million illegal immigrant students, each costing taxpayers $9,912 a year. That's over 10 billion dollars a year. Incarceration of illegals in CA is costing 1.4 billion dollars a year (from Arnold himself). Any wonder why we have a large state budget deficit. It's all attributable to the cost of the free benefits provided to illegal immigrants

I think some one hit the nail on the head in another article similar to this. Make these people fight in the war for 2 years. Then they can automatically become US Citizens because they fought for our country. I'll bet they will turn an about face and hit home as fast as they can with their tail between their legs..

I love the first comment, by fcoles: "Criminals did NOT build America...." That is just too hilarious, and very wrong. All kinds of criminals helped build this nation of ours! I hope you know this nation's history.....sad (or funny) if you don't.
And to Legal American- well, if you didn't talk to them, then how do you know they are here illegally? Who told you? Or was it an "educated" guess?
