Turning Point Foundation (TPF) will be joining the Sierra Club at their annual "Green Block", located on Oak Street from Main to Santa Clara Street, with kinetic vehicles on display at Ventura's annual 4th of July Street Fair. This years Kinetic Sculpture Race at Ventura Harbor is scheduled for Saturday, October 25th 2008. This unique, FREE, family event features people-powered works of art built to travel over an exciting all terrain course. Racing over land, sand, water and mud, these Kinetic Sculptures can have over 100 gears; ingenious treading, flotation and propulsion; athletic pilots and mechanically advanced pit crews. These uniquely engineered machines are transformed into moving, artful sculptures. Humorous rules and a variety of judging criteria determine each entry's score, and the first one across the FINISH LINE is not necessarily the winner! Be sure to stop by and see the vehicles-we will have temporary tattoos for the kids and DVD's of last years Kinetic Sculpture Race, filmed by Magnificent Obsessions for the first 100 to ask.
